Sonamia Innovates in Logistics with the Help of Exoskeletons
Since the beginning of 2025, Sonamia has taken a new step in logistics innovation by introducing four German Bionic exoskeletons into its operations. These wearable devices provide mechanical support that reduces muscle fatigue, helps protect physical health, and improves efficiency in demanding tasks.
A Concrete Response to a Real-World Need
This initiative was born from a simple observation : the weight of certain boxes handled daily represented a significant burden for our teams.
To prevent injuries, improve working comfort, and enhance safety, real-world tests were carried out in October and November 2024. The results were clear : the exoskeleton is a true asset for our employees.
Technology at the Service of Performance
At Sonamia, exoskeletons are primarily used by the Reception department, especially during the unloading of inner tubes and small tires.
The selected model provides three complementary functions:
- Walking assistance, particularly useful for pulling pallet trucks without strain,
- Lifting support, to relieve pressure on the lower back,
- Counterforce assistance, which helps slow and control the lowering of loads onto a pallet.
This technological support allows employees to maintain a steady work pace throughout the day without experiencing a drop in energy.
Sonamia Reinforces Its Commitment to Workplace Well-being
With the integration of these innovative tools, Sonamia continues its commitment to improving working conditions.
The investment in exoskeletons is part of a broader strategy to enhance team performance while protecting their health.
